Things To Do

Door County enjoys two coastlines, so playing in the water is a good first option. The east boundary, on which Killasonna Lodge is located, is defined by Lake Michigan, whereas the west side of the peninsula is marked by Green Bay. Altogether there are some 250 miles of shoreline dotted with quaint harbor villages and picturesque coves, not to mention the town of Sturgeon Bay. Being surrounded by water, there are many choices for water-based recreation. Whether with your own craft or rent or a charter one, you can enjoy sailing, cruising, canoeing and kayaking. Visit one of the nearby sandy beaches or take day trip via the ferry to Washington Island.

The quaint towns and countryside harbor quality art galleries and studios that give Door County it’s reputation for a rich performing arts scene — from classical and jazz music to professional theater. There are fascinating museums, parks and lighthouses to explore.

Five state parks and more than a dozen county parks, offer exceptional hiking and biking opportunities. Eleven golf courses, horseback riding, fishing, cherry orchards are complemented by various festivals every weekend.

Guests will receive a detailed list of “things to do,” as well as restaurant recommendations.
